Mary Odem who has been awarded a $30,000 grant from the Emory Institute for Developing Nations to support her research on the gender, race, and class dynamics of Central American immigrants into the U.S. South.

Doug Unfug who has won the Enno E. Kraehe Distinguished Service Award for 2009, given by the European History Section of the Southern Historical Association.
